Elvis Puggy Gets Wheels!

Elvis Puggy got his new cart on 5/24/2007.  This absolutely amazing cart was specially made for Elvis by Eddie's Wheels (www.eddieswheels.com).  Within 5 minutes Elvis was off and cruising around.  We walked all over the neighborhood and visited the staff at the vet clinic to show them the new wheels.  Elvis is so happy - so is boris.  Boris finally has his brother back!  Elvis is like a puppy again.  I am afraid he overdid it, though and he is really tired.  I suspect he has some aches and pains and I will give him some arthritis aspirin tonight.  I was really concerned that his vestibular syndrome would effect his ability to maneuver the cart, but he had no problems at all. In fact, the vestibular syndrome actually seems to be subsiding.  Some of the photos show his head tilt, but in the first couple photos, he is making an effort to straighten himself out.  His tail is curly and wagging again.  He is still leaking urine non stop - we tried the PROIN drops without any luck.  He had no adverse reaction to them, but they were ineffective.  Darcyne bought him some belly bands - they should be here tomorrow.  Hope you enjoy the photos.  Elvis' illness and recovery is a miracle - we want to thank our friends and family for being a part of this miracle.

Reaching For Food
I set up his food and water so it would be easy to get to.

Eating and Drinking
I redecorated so that he can get around the apartment in his wheelchair and eat and play.  Notice he is using his back legs.  I put them on the stirrups but he pulled them off.  He does quite well as long as the bowl is raised. He has a harder time with the bowls on the floor, although he can use them.
