Elvis Puggy's New Sister

Meet Dandy!

Dandy came to live with us on 3/15/2008, exactly 5 months after Boris' death. Although I felt it was too soon for me, I knew that Elvis needed a companion.  Our friend Tami told us about Kristy and Hill Country Pugs.  Kristy needed to rehome a couple pugs that she was no longer breeding or showing.  I am committed to rescue and was uneasy getting a dog from a breeder, but I knew that because of Elvis' disability I needed a dog with a predictable temperment and few, if any health issues.  Before the holidays, I  adopted a beautiful black cat with a severe head tilt due to a stroke.  Midnight also has a disability and I needed to make sure that any animal that comes into my home has a gentle disposition and is good with cats as well as dogs.  After talking to Kristy at length, I realized that her pugs would work very well in my little family and we ultimately decided on Dandy.  My friend Kathy and I picked Dandy up from the airport and brought her home.  She sniffed around, checked out Elvis and my older cat, Scratchy and made herself right at home.  After about 15 minutes she decided that she owned the place and Elvis was HERS!

I called Kristy and told her that everything was fine and that Dandy was behaving as if she had lived her forever and she basically owned the place.  Kristy thought I was telling her these things to make her feel good.  I decided that I better post these photos so she knows the TRUTH.  Elvis and Dandy are conspiring against me and they have devious plans to rule the world.  I can just feel it.
