I bought Scratchy and Buster a nice, new cat tree at Costco. Great deal, it was only $70. At first they loved it. I was thrilled. Then the fighting started. They both claimed the top bunk. The war continued for a couple weeks. Eventually, Scratchy returned to his rightful place on the sofa and Buster claimed the entire cat tree. I keep checking Costco to see if they have more in stock - I guess they should each have their own.
